Meet The Team

Tash Barnard
Founder & Principle
I am a passionate Pilates instructor, educator, mentor, and business leader who discovered the wonder of Pilates through BASI Pilates in the iconic year 2000, after pursuing my dream to dance. As they say, the rest is history. Today, I proudly serve as a Principal Instructor and Faculty Member for BASI, mentoring the next generation of instructors and representing this globally respected method with integrity and heart.
My association with BASI has afforded me the privilege of teaching in many nations around the world, including my contributions to Pilates Anytime, where my classes are celebrated for their clarity, creativity, and connection. I also share my expertise at luxury wellness destinations, most recently as a Guest Instructor in Portugal, and I proudly represent Life in Movement Retreats—transformational experiences that blend movement, mindfulness, and community.
My beautiful TashB Pilates studio, now celebrating 18 years of serving the Ballito community, has found its home at The Linc Campus. It welcomes everyone—from beginners to professionals—into an environment that supports holistic well-being, both in-studio and through my thriving online global community.
I live in Ballito, South Africa, with my husband and best friend, Andre, and our game-changing children, Asia and Carter. My heart and deepest desire is to see people live with great posture—inside and out.

Lorraine Knowles
Pilates Instructor
I was inspired to become a Pilates instructor when I joined Tash B as a client in 2009.
I qualified as a BASI Comprehensive instructor in November 2014 and have been teaching at this beautiful studio for 11 years. The highlight of many courses and workshops attended over the years is definitely the “Learn from the Leaders” conference at the BASI head office in California in 2016 where I met a dynamic bunch of instructors from all over the world.
It was an incredible experience! I get great joy from sharing my expertise and passion with all my wonderful clients.

Colette Bamberger
Pilates Instructor
I fell in love with Pilates after first doing it in 2005. My body felt familiar and at home with the movement as I did ballet throughout school.
After many years in hospitality I moved back to South Africa in 2017 to pursue my dream career and qualified as a BASI Comprehensive instructor and have been teaching full time since. I frequently attend workshops to further my education.
Most recently I did the certificate for Pathologies and Injuries.
My goal is to complete the BASI Legacy Program.

Louise Fletcher
Pilates Instructor
I first started Pilates while pregnant with my daughter! Tash was always gently nudging me to do the course, but I never saw myself as a teacher.
2017 brought some huge changes in my life, so in 2019 I took the plunge and did the BASI Mat teacher training program.
This was the start of my journey into realising where my passion lay.
I did the Tactile cueing course with Tash in the end of 2019 and then completed the BASI Comprehensive training program, becoming certified in 2024

Lenel Hoffman
Pilates Instructor
I started my Pilates journey during Covid, originally with the dream of working on yachts and teaching Pilates while traveling the world. But somewhere along the way, I completely fell in love with Pilates, how it made me feel, how much there was to learn, and most of all, how rewarding it was to share that with others. That passion led me to stay at TashB and teach full time, and I’ve never looked back.
Over time, I’ve continued to grow and learn through different short courses, like the Mentor Program and the Injuries and Pathology course, and different Collab courses, with many more to still come.
I’m also a qualified yoga instructor, and I love weaving everything I’ve learned into my classes, helping others move, feel strong, and connect with their bodies.

Michaela Moreira
Pilates Instructor
Movement has always been my language. I’ve been a dancer my whole life, so when I matriculated in 2022, continuing into Pilates felt like the most natural step. I wanted to deepen my understanding of movement and anatomy — not just for myself, but so I could share that knowledge with others. Teaching people how to move better and feel stronger truly fulfills me, and Pilates has also elevated my own dancing in ways I never imagined.
I qualified as a BASI Comprehensive Pilates Instructor in 2024 and continued my education in 2025 with courses in Pilates Through Pregnancy and Beyond and Pilates for Injuries and Pathologies. My goal is always to ensure that every person in front of me receives the highest quality of teaching and care — because every body deserves to move well.

Talia Tostee
Pilates Instructor
Dance has been a part of my life for 16 years, and through it I discovered Pilates at the age of 13 as a way to support my strength and mobility.
What began as support for my dancing quickly became a passion. Pilates transformed my life by helping me improve my scoliosis while building strength, confidence, and a deeper mind-body connection through movement.
I qualified as a BASI Comprehensive Pilates Instructor in 2025 and am passionate about helping others move better, feel stronger, and gain confidence in their bodies through Pilates.
