Our Mission
We exist to help you move your body towards greater wholeness and health.

Our Values
We are clear: to be clear is to be kind!
We aspire to communicate and engage in a consistent and respectful way with each other as colleagues and with our clients who are our life blood.
We are intentional: we are front footed in our thinking and in our doing! We do what needs to be done with a positive and purposeful spirit; for ourselves, each other, our families our clients and our community. We teach and guide for outcome and progress. We have a spring in our step, a sparkle in our eye and we spread kindness and love everywhere and at every opportunity we get.
We show respect for all & in all we do: We embrace each other, our clients, suppliers and community! We have respect for our environment, our equipment, our teaching methods, our processes and systems. We show up on time, we demonstrate discipline and we have each other's backs. Respect is a non-negotiable for us, it a core foundation stone we use to leap forth from, to change lives.
We have strong backs: We are uncompromising in our demand for integrity, honesty and excellence. We are courageous and wildly believe in speaking our truth and staying our true north. Our truth is underpinned by our beliefs and these beliefs bind us together. When challenged we will defend them with strong backs and courageous hearts.
We carry no armour: Here, at TashB, we are our best selves, vulnerable, encouraging, genuine and strong. We need no armour, as who we are is enough. We give our "enough" to our teaching methods, to each other and to our clients! We are kind, we are generous in our doing and saying, we suspend judgement and we look at those around us with kind eyes.
We care: deeply and unequivocally. Nurturing ourselves, each other and our clients is at the centre of who we are. To care is to be courageous enough to speak our truths that lead to realisation and change and help grow stronger body and minds.

Frequently asked questions
What is Pilates?
Pilates is a system of exercises developed in the early 20th century that emphasizes controlled movements, core strength, and breathwork to improve flexibility, balance, and body awareness. It involves a series of precise movements designed to strengthen core muscles, improve posture, and enhance overall physical well-being.
What is our cancellation policy?
We understand that sometimes you may have to miss your scheduled class. We have a booking window which will allow you to cancel your session and the credit will be applied if cancelled atleast 24 hours prior to your scheduled time, if you have missed the booking window you will be charged the full session rate for late cancellation.
How is Pilates different from other forms of exercise?
Pilates differs from other forms of exercise in several key ways, particularly in its focus, technique, and goals. Here's a breakdown of how Pilates stands out:
Core Emphasis
Pilates: Strongly emphasizes strengthening the core muscles (abdomen, lower back, hips, and glutes)—often called the "powerhouse."
Other exercises: May focus more broadly on cardiovascular fitness, muscle hypertrophy (growth), or performance rather than core control.
Controlled, Precise Movements
Pilates: Focuses on slow, controlled, and precise movements coordinated with breath.
Other exercises: Activities like weightlifting or HIIT often emphasize speed, power, or endurance over precision.
Mind-Body Connection
Pilates: Encourages mental focus, awareness of body alignment, and breath control—similar to yoga.
Other exercises: Many traditional workouts (e.g., running, cycling, weight training) don’t explicitly emphasize the mind-body connection.
Low Impact
Pilates: Is generally low impact, making it accessible for all ages and fitness levels, including rehab and injury prevention.
Other exercises: High-impact activities (e.g., running, plyometrics) can place more strain on joints.
Equipment Use
Pilates: Can be done on a mat or with specialized equipment like the Reformer, Cadillac, or Wunda Chair.
Other exercises: Use of equipment varies—weights, treadmills, machines—but the type and purpose differ significantly.
Posture and Alignment
Pilates: Places a strong focus on proper posture and spinal alignment throughout all movements.
Other exercises: Posture is important but not always central to the methodology.
Flexibility and Stability
Pilates: Aims to balance strength and flexibility, helping improve mobility and joint stability.
Other exercises: Weight training builds strength, yoga builds flexibility, but not all combine both.
Who can do Pilates?
Everyone can do Pilates. It does not require any specific age, condition, strength, ability or fitness. It is a wonderful life-changing form of exercise that has been around for decades.

Hi Tash, how are you?
Sorry to message so late, I thought to message you now before I lost my train of thought. I just finished the Ballet Barre Course at the Movement Lab and all I can say is BASI is the way to go. I just felt like BASI is so precise and accurate whereas when I did the STOTT course there were so many unknowns.
All I can say is I’m very grateful for the qualification and experience but I feel a lot more experienced with the knowledge I gained from the BASI courses with you!!! I definitely had an advantage to the other students who were only STOTT trained. BASI has prepared me for anything pilates related that comes my way. I’m so grateful for you and the space you have allowed me to learn in 💗
